What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Comments

When visitors leave comments or reviews on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymised string created from your e-mail address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact Forms

Users need to fill out a contact form to communicate with us. We promise to handle your details with care and not share them with third parties. Users can contact us to request deletion of their data. Emails are removed from our system after being resolved, unless they need to be stored for ongoing communication. We don’t use the information from our contact forms for marketing.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Our site may feature embedded content (like videos, images, articles, etc.). Such content from other websites behaves as if the visitor went to the other website. These sites may gather data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Fonts

To display texts and fonts correctly, this site uses web fonts from Google. When you access a page, your browser loads the required fonts, creating a direct connection to Google servers. Google learns that our website was accessed via your IP address. We use Google Web fonts for a consistent and pleasing presentation of our content. If your browser doesn’t support web fonts, a default font from your computer is used. More on this can be found at Google’s privacy policy and Google Fonts FAQ.

Google reCaptcha

Our website’s login and contact forms are protected with Google’s reCaptcha technology. When you access a form, your browser loads this tech. This also establishes a connection to Google’s servers, making Google aware of our webpage’s access via your IP. Check out Google’s privacy policy for more.

Cookies

What are cookies? Cookies are small text files storing bits of info. They are stored on your device when you load our website, helping it function properly, enhancing security, improving user experience, and evaluating website performance.

How do we use cookies? As most online services, we use both first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies ensure our website works correctly, and they don’t collect identifiable data. Third-party cookies help us understand website performance, user interactions, security, relevant advertisements, and overall enhance user experience. Most browsers accept cookies by default, but you can set yours to refuse them. However, some site features might not work without cookies.

Usage and Analytics Data

We value your privacy. We neither collect usage info nor employ tracking methods to extract information about you or your device.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you send a contact form, the contents and its metadata are retained indefinitely, allowing us to automatically recognize and approve any subsequent comments instead of holding them in a queue.

Your Data Rights

If you’ve engaged with our contact form, you can request a copy of our correspondence with you. You can also ask us to erase any personal data we possess about you, excluding data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
